ADMISSION PROCEDURES FOR INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS

Step One
International Applicants must communicate directly with the Admissions office and request all forms necessary for admission.

Step Two
Applicants must send by mail all requirements mentioned below EXCEPT the Authenticated Police Clearance and Medical Health Certificate issued by an authorized physician including standard chest x-ray, both of which are to be presented together with the original Letter of Acceptance by the applicant to the consular officer upon interview for the approval of the student visa.

1. Five copies of the applicant’s Personal History Statement must be filled up legibly by the applicant with a recent 2x2 photo attached to each copy. Applicant must prepare five (5) photocopies of the form received and fill up each one separately.

2. Authenticated documents by the Philippine Embassy in the country of origin of the applicant. *
* Authentication, means all the documents mentioned below must be brought by the student to the Philippine Embassy for proper stamp or seal and signatures/s.


  • Transcript of Records from the last school attended.
  • Police Clearance.
  • Affidavit of Support with a copy of the latest bank statement of the sponsoring organization/church. (A notarized affidavit of support is also acceptable.)

3. Clear photocopy of the first few pages of the applicant’s passport (pages which show the photo, personal information, its date and place of issuance).

4. Recommendation/Endorsement from:

  • Pastor
  • State Overseer (if applicable)
  • Field Coordinator/Regional Superintendent (if applicable). *
    * Church of God international applicants. All COG international applicants must be endorsed by their Overseer to the Field Director. The applicant should make sure
    (Through follow-up) that the accomplished endorsement form is submitted by the Field Director directly to the office of Admissions.

5. English Proficiency Exam and MAT/OLSAT. International applicants must take the English Proficiency Exam and the OLSAT/MAT as a requirement for admission (see general requirements for admission for details)

  • However, international applicants who have access and have passed the TOEFL exam are required to submit the certification of scores before entering the country.
  • Those who have no access to TOEFL will be required to submit an Essay (of at least 3 pages) on a topic selected by the applicant from the list provided by ASCM. This essay will be used to determine the applicant’s English proficiency and will be validated by the result of the English Proficiency Exam that will be taken after arriving in the country.
  • Applicants who obtained the required scores will then be interviewed.
  • Applicants will be informed of acceptance by the registrar and may proceed with the enrollment process.
6. An Essay of at least 200 words by the applicant relating his/her conversion, ministerial experience, vision for his ministry and how the ASCM program will help fulfill this vision.

7. Accomplished Application Form with 1 copy of a recent 1½"x1½" photograph.

8. Medical Health Certificate issued by an authorized physician including standard chest x-ray.

Step Three
1. The school, if satisfied with all the requirements, issues a letter of acceptance (LOA) to the applicant which states the following:

  • Applicant’s course and year of admission
  • Applicant’s nationality.


2. The school will submit the following documents to the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila.

  • An authenticated Transcript of Records
  • An authenticated/Notarized Affidavit of Support with Bank Statement.
  • Five (5) original copies of the Personal History Statement
  • A clear copy of the student’s passport
  • A duplicate copy of the Letter of Acceptance

3. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), if satisfied with the documents, will transmit the documents to the Philippine Embassy abroad (student’s country of origin). The embassy then will call the applicant for a personal appearance before the consular officer for an interview.

The student needs to present the following:

  • Original Letter of Acceptance
  • Authenticated Police Clearance
  • Medical health certificate issued by an authorized physician including standard chest x-ray.

Step Four
Upon approval of his/her student visa, the applicant must then inform the ASCM Admission’s office of travel and arrival plans.

Deadline for Receipt of Applications:
International applicants who seek admission for the first semester of the school year must submit all the requirements no later than January 31 while students who seek admission for the second semester must submit all the requirements not later than June 30. All documents received after the deadlines will only be considered for the succeeding semester. The first semester starts in June. The second semester starts in November.

- International applicants must contact the ASCM Admissions office for specific instructions regarding documents needed for travel to the Philippines. This must be done before contacting the local Philippine Embassy.

- A transcript of records submitted in a language other than English must have an official English translation.

- Church of God applicants desiring to come under the resident program are required to have the approval of their national leaders and the Field Director of the Asia-Pacific Region.

- Church of God applicants who are requesting full scholarship from the Office of World missions must be properly endorsed by their State Overseers. This request for full scholarship must be in writing and signed by the State Overseer. Applicants coming from countries with existing Church of God Bible Schools will only be accepted at the Master’s level.

- Expenses incurred for international students’ visas processed by ASCM will be billed to the students’ account.
